Well I suppose it’s again time for NPD to tot up the numbers from the console war like some UN peacekeepers recording the destructive progress between two warring nations. If you were in a fortune telling frame of mind it might be jolly to try and extrapolate these numbers out to the end of this generation. This is of course what they are there for anyway.
Personally, I don’t see any clouds of doom over-shadowing Nintendo’s future. Right now their demise could only come from their main market of bored housewives paying too much attention to The Daily Mail’s shock revelation that the Wii has some games that aren’t designed to make you clever or lose 5 stone from your posterior. That just leaves Sony and Microsoft to desperately fiddle with their game plans so they might grab the attention of this market or at least show off enough big shiny graphics of space marines committing war crimes to dominate the old school gamers. I’ll save my opinions on who looks more likely to end up second for fear of upsetting those who’ve just spent all their pocket money on a 360.
