It seems a while ago that the power that be got peeved off with how much time the kids where playing games for , seen as this time could be better used for growing rice and such for the people they have (amongst other methods) pined down the amount of time you could play on an MMO RPG for by forcing time restrictions on the servers and also “helping” those with an “addiction” by placing them in rehab. In recent developments described here they seem to have had some success in this battle by closing down 563 illegal internet cafes in the city of Shenzhen. Most are described as being on the top floor of an otherwise empty building, blimey sounds pretty crack den to me. Now curbing freedom of the press is one thing but to me it seems like it’ll be a little more difficult to stop people playing video games, proving an addiction even harder so.
